Hamilton Technology Centre
HTC is an established Canadian technology innovation and commercialization platform, led by an experienced technology entrepreneur, that can convene specialized technology companies, infrastructure operators, municipalities and other stakeholders around real-world critical-infrastructure problems.
The Hamilton Technology Centre (HTC) is a long-established Hamilton technology hub with roots dating to 1993, when it was established by the Region of Hamilton-Wentworth to lead a technology park known as Innovation Drive. Today, under private ownership and the leadership of Rob McCann, HTC provides a home and platform for technology companies, entrepreneurs, professional organizations, and innovation-focused initiatives, while connecting its members to the broader Hamilton innovation ecosystem.
Its role extends beyond providing physical space: HTC creates opportunities for companies and people to connect, collaborate, exchange expertise, and develop commercial opportunities, building on Hamilton's longstanding strengths in telecommunications, advanced technology, research, and entrepreneurship. With Rob's background in broadband, intelligent communities, and technology commercialization, HTC has also become a natural platform for initiatives such as the Critical Infrastructure Protection Cluster, positioning the centre as a place where established expertise, emerging technology companies and broader community interests can come together to address practical technology challenges.
